The Wideband Data Receiver – Multirate – Ultra High Rate (WDR-MR-UHR) demodulates, state estimates, and bit synchronizes, up to four Nyquist filtered OQPSK signals on a 720 Mhz IF with data rate range typically from 100 Mb/s to 600 Mb/s. The receiver also provides bit error rate test (BERT) capability for both the I and Q channel outputs. Thus the capability of three rack mount chassis is provided in one unit. In fact in some cases an external switch matrix chassis may be eliminated by this receiver so that the capability of four units is provided. In figure 1, a block diagram of the WDR-MR-UHR is provided. The unit not only processes up to four OQPSK signals but also provides for modulo two differential decoding (NRZ-M to NRZ-L) and de-randomization for both the I and Q channels. Bit Error Rate measurement capability is provided separately for both the I and Q channel. A multi-mode TCP/IP interface (ASCII quarry / response and http) is provided to remotely control and monitor the receiver. TCP/IP physical interface is 10/100 base T via an RJ-45 connector. Local status and control is also provided on the front panel. All electrical connections are provided on the back panel.
