This version of the single rate wideband data receiver receives an OQPSK modulated signal on a 720 MHz IF. The information rate range of the signal is typically one data rate from within 5 to 25 Mb/s (transmission rate 10 to 50 Mb/s). The receiver filters and automatic gain control processes the noisy signal input. The receiver then coherently demodulates the input and the bit synchronizer signal conditioner (BSSC) match filters and state estimates the baseband demodulator outputs. A baud rate clock is also reconstructed which controls the state estimation process. The data state estimates and baud rate clock are then decoded using the Viterbi algorithm to achieve improved data state estimates. Typically 5.2 dB of coding gain is achieved at 10-5 input error rate. Monitoring is provided via the front panel and remotely through an IEEE 488 interface. |
