The X Band converter has a NEMA type enclosure mounted to a thick plate to which internal converter modules are mounted and also a heat sink on the rear of the unit. Internal heating is also provided. Up to three single conversion converters plus one dual conversion down converter can be provided. For example, one might have two data down converters, one loop back test up converter, and one dual conversion track down converter. The mechanical configuration is such that converter modules can be removed and replaced in minutes, which is extremely beneficial at both extremes of environment. All signal, monitor / control, AC connections are on the bottom of the enclosure. A pressurization input for moisture control using dry air is also provided. Solar shields are added to the top, sides, and front of the unit when appropriate.
